ConferenceLeeds has announced that Leeds has been chosen to host the International Society for Knowledge for Surgeons on Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty (ISKSAA) signature event, the ISKSAA Global Summit, which for the first time in the conference’s 15-year history is being held outside of India.

The event will see an estimated 500 delegates attend Cloth Hall Court between 21-22 June, with the aim of sharing knowledge, promoting good practice and inspiring the next generation of surgeons in Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty.

This is the first time ISKSAA is venturing into an overseas location and will provide a forum for international dialogue regarding the practice of Arthroscopy, knee and shoulder surgery, joint replacement surgery and Orthopaedic sports medicine. The format of the conference will include a range of lectures, live surgeries and workshops headed by experts from the UK and across the globe, who will be presenting results from research and discussing the newest operative techniques. Delegates visiting from abroad can also take part in a visitor programme before the main event, giving them the chance to explore the very best Leeds and the UK has to offer.

The society called upon ConferenceLeeds to help select a venue. ConferenceLeeds arranged site visits, with the society selecting Cloth Hall Court at Leeds Beckett University, with it offering the ideal location to host world leading talks with its academic roots. It also offers excellent transport links, with Leeds Train Station just over the road, making it easy for delegates across the UK to attend.

Sanjeev Anand, congress president at ISKSAA, commented: “We are extremely excited to be taking this event outside of India for the very first time! We were very eager to bring it to the UK, and Leeds was an ideal choice. It is a beautiful city, extremely well connected and offers excellent academic venues, which we were keen for the conference to be held in, in order to reflect the world-class speakers and demonstrations on offer. The team at ConferenceLeeds was extremely helpful; as this is the very first event overseas, we want it to be perfect, and with ConferenceLeeds’ help, it’ll be just that.”

Jennifer Young, head of ConferenceLeeds, added: “We’re thrilled that ISKSAA has chosen Leeds to host its very first event outside of India, with this win clearly demonstrating the city’s ability to attract not only national, but international conferences. The event really recognises the brilliant sector strength Leeds has in healthcare, and we look forward to welcoming ISKSAA members to the city.”
