Job Description
You will be required to ensure residents within the Doncaster Borough have access to the Home Alarm Service. Enabling the clients most vulnerable clients to remain at home through using various assistive technology equipment, which is installed, maintained and responded to by Telecare Officers.
The client will provide some mentoring/training before being required to work alone.
The working hours are on a rota basis with an average of 26.25 hours per week. Shifts can be from 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- To follow safeguarding, moving and handling, health and safety and customer care principles and procedures at all times.
- Use of various IT systems to support the installation, maintenance of equipment and responding to the alarm activations
- Following telecare alarm activations, to provide an emergency response in the customers home in order to establish the status of the customer and act accordingly to findings.
- To work independently to install, test, maintain and disconnect assistive technology equipment within customer homes and designated properties.
- To liaise with emergency services when appropriate
- QCF level 2 or a relevant Social Care qualification
- Experience of working with Adults in a health and social care environment.
- The understanding of multi-disciplinary working .An understanding of the physical, social and emotional needs of the service users.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to write legible daily reports, and assess risks and individuals abilities.
- Knowledge of the following: Dementia, Safeguarding Adults, Health and Safety
- Valid driving licence required, travelling around the borough is essential for the role
- Enhanced DBS check
