Job Description
Location – LE1 1FQ
£19.33ph – On going contract
Major Objectives:
- The protection of health and safety by the assessment of building work and the requirement of any necessary changes to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- To ensure that the policies of the company relating to equal opportunities are implemented in the carrying out of Building Control procedures.
- To help ensure that the City’s sustainable development and environmental improvement policies are implemented and practised within the department.
Summary of job tasks: The tasks listed are, generally, only those taking at least 10% of the post holder’s time.
- To examine deposited plans to ensure that proposed work satisfies the relevant requirements.
- To carry out site visits to ensure that building work is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Building Act and other relevant legislation.
- To visit sites, make reports and act in relation to dangerous structures and demolition sites.
- To maintain adequate and relevant records of all sites visited in accordance with stated procedures.
