Education Support Practitioner - Islington
Are you a passionate, dedicated Education Support Practitioner looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting an Education Support Practitioner to join a team based in Islington.
Umbrella Rate: £25.27 per hour
Duration:08/11/2023 – 2 months initially
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 35 hrs/week
Education Support Practitioner role: Full JD Available
- Engage with young people that are based within a Pupil Referral Unit and/or Islington’s Alternative Provision providers to reach their full potential
- Home visiting and attending school sites
- Develop effective working relationships with NRC staff and partner agencies to coordinate and support transition of children to/from mainstream schools and promote identification of children in need of help
- Offer in-school support and work alongside practitioners already involved in a child’s life to improve educational outcomes
- Supporting children to attend school
- Offering individual and group interventions that improve outcomes for children and young people, Particularly in relation to attainment, attendance and reducing school exclusions
- Log, monitor and track pupil attendance, exclusions and attainment progression across a locality in order to inform targeting of resources, planning and delivery of appropriate intervention
- Participate in a flexible approach to meet the needs of NRC children with poor attendance
- Participate in data collection and recording into the relevant management information systems in order to capture all necessary inputs, outputs and outcomes for young people, their families and carers
- Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
Essential Requirements
- Experience of engaging children and families through community based or educational establishments to identify and meet needs
- Ability to deliver advice, guidance, support and interventions to families with the aim of improving family resilience and ability to offer consultation and advice to practitioners around improving Educational outcomes
- Ability to work alongside practitioners involved in a child’s life, contributing to the family plan
- An understanding of child development, trauma informed practice, and the family/environmental stressors that can have a detrimental impact on children reaching their full potential
- Ability to work flexibly
- You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
