Female Residential Childcare Worker - Manchester

Are you a passionate, dedicated Residential Childcare Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Female Residential Childcare Worker to join a team based in a Children’s Residential Unit for young people aged 11 – 18 in Manchester. 

Pay Rates: £15.11 per hour

Duration: 28/08/2023 - 8 weeks with potential extension

Hours: Rota basis covering 21:45 - 07:45, 4 days 1 week then 2 days the next – Office based

Childcare Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Provide a safe, warm, caring and stable environment for the children
  • Participate in the assessment of each child’s/young person’s needs and regular reviewing individual care plans/programmes
  • Monitor, evaluate and review assessments as required determining suitable adjustments to ensure that service users are able to achieve their agreed goals
  • Provide appropriate support and guidance to the young people
  • Ensure that the wishes and feelings of children/people are taken into account in all matters relating to their daily care
  • Ensure the welfare of young people is promoted, that they are protected from abuse and that an appropriate response is made to any allegation or suspicion of abuse or neglect
  • Encourage and motivate young people to develop interests and leisure activities which can be sustained in the family home
  • Develop strong, trusting working relationships
  • Liaise and work effectively with colleagues, other agencies and service users in the interests of young people
  • Maintain appropriate records on each child/young person and prepare written reports

Essential Requirements:

  • Must have physical intervention training
  • Previous experience working with young people with complex needs
  • Previous experience doing child assessments based on their needs
  • Emotional resilience in order to meet the needs and work with children who exhibit complex and challenging behaviour
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
