North Wales Adoption Service Lead - Wrexhem
£350 per day
Our North Wales Adoption Service, seeking someone with an enhanced knowledge of Adoption and running a regional service. The Successful candidate will support with the stabilization of the service and follow though on the review of the service.
The North Wales Adoption Service is a regional service undertaking the recruitment, training, assessment and support of adopters and family finding for the six North Wales authorities namely, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham and Ynys Mon. The authorities pool their resources and develop joint activities in order to provide a more efficient service to all those involved in adoption across the region. Since 2014, the service has been integrated into the National Adoption Service of Wales.
The role is responsible for service outcomes and delivering the service objectives across six partner organisations and maintaining effective partnership working with a range of statutory public sector organisations and independent/third sector service providers.
The post holder is responsible for an estimated annual budget of £1.2 million The post holder reports to the Service Manager (Corporate Parenting) Social Care and the Regional Partnership Board.
The post holder has permanent responsibility for directly managing a number of employees undertaking tasks in the same general area of work but based across North Wales.
The Service Lead is responsible for a team of 32 staff including: 3 Operational Team Managers, 12 qualified, specially trained and experienced Social Workers and 2 sessional social workers, 1 Recruitment Officer, 1 Training Officer, 2 Contact Coordinators, 4 Administrators, 2.5 Post Adoption Co-ordinators, 4 Regional Therapeutic Support Workers.
Number of Locations: Dispersed workforce based at Wrexham and Partner Authorities of Flintshire, Conwy, Gwynedd, Denbighshire, Ynys Mon.
