Personal Advisor - Family Services - Barnet

Are you a passionate, dedicated Parent and Family Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Personal Advisor to join a team based in Barnet.

Umbrella Rate: £26.50 per hour

Duration: 04/12/2023 – 3 months initially

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.15pm, 36 hrs/week

Personal Advisor role: Full JD Available

  • Manage a caseload and be responsible for the provision of direct services to care leavers to improve outcomes for young people 18 years – 24 years old
  • Engage with young people to identify and address their needs, strengths and risks
  • Complete Pathway Assessments and Plans
  • Provide practical and supportive services based on those assessed needs, subsequent plans and risk manage complex cases held
  • Offer information, advice, guidance, risk management and support on learning and career options and personal development opportunities
  • Regularly review their progress and assess the level of support required through regular review of pathway Plans
  • Negotiate by agreement to refer young people to partner agencies for on-going support
  • Act as an advocate on behalf of young people
  • Ensure a multi-agency approach
  • Work with and support education and training organisations and employers in meeting the needs of young people
  • Work with parents, carers and families to support young people
  • Be responsible for recording all activity on ICS accurately that departmental records are consistently correct and all activity can be properly accounted for
  • Develop strong, trusting working relationships
  • Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary

Essential Requirements

  • Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Relevant professional level qualification
  • Recent experience working as a Personal Advisor for Young People Leaving Care
  • Knowledge of the Children Leaving Care Act 2000, Children Act 1989 and 2004 and DOH Guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • Ability to undertake Age Assessments and Human Rights Assessment
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of the team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be available for the duty rota system to enable effective cover for all of the team’s cases
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
