Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- To be responsible for the organisation, management and supervision of residential services for children.
- To be responsible for the team based development of a high quality looked after children practice by ensuring that work is appropriately planned, critically evaluated and reviewed and that key performance indicators are met.
- To contribute to overall strategic planning and management of the service and to the development of high quality services.
- To lead the team ensuring that the functions of the Service are carried out effectively and in accordance with the legislation, regulations, guidance standards and local procedures and priorities.
- To continually improve services in light of the service user views, performance data and stakeholder feedback.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the last 5 years in a relevant setting to the residential care of children (children and/or disabilities, preferably both)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a management position including management and supervision of staff
- Willingness to register with Ofsted as the manager of the home, including the necessary processes to achieve this.
- Desirable - Background in leadership and management of residential care for children with disabilities, preferably as a registered manager.
- Desirable - Level 5 diploma in leadership and management for residential care or equivalent. If not held, Willingness to complete this.
- Desirable - Good working knowledge of the SCCIF and the childrens homes regulations
- Desirable - Experience of Ofsted Inspections
- Enhanced DBS check
