Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officer - Harrow 

Are you a passionate, dedicated Rehabilitation Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officer to join a team based in Harrow. You will be required to work with the vision impaired person and other key people to identify their needs and deliver the agreed rehabilitation programme. 

Pay Rate: £33 per hour

Duration: 3 months 

Hours: Monday to Wednesday 9am - 5pm, 21 hrs/ week - Hybrid

Rehabilitation Officer role: Full JD Available

  • Undertake assessments to identify their needs to promote independent living
  • Provide emotional and practical support
  • To identify, manage and where possible reduce risk to visually impaired people, family, carers, communities, self and colleagues
  • To plan, implement, evaluate and review rehabilitative services
  • Maximise and maintaining independence and safety
  • Rehabilitation may include daily living skills, communication skills, mobility training, low vision
  • Arrange adaptions and liase with all parties and other specialist workers in line with employer’s policies
  • Refer individuals to partners in local authorities, health service, education service etc..

Essential Requirements:

  • Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Rehabilitation Officer for the visually impaired qualification or Technical Officer/ Mobility Officer dual qualification
  • Experience of working with people who are visually disabled, of all ages
  • Experience of working with carers / family of people who are visually disabled
  • Knowledge of methods of communication including Braille, Moon, typing, new technology, resources for people who are visually disabled
  • Ability to encourage and motivate people to acquire and transfer skills
  • Understanding the psychological effects
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered onto the update service
