Our local authority client is looking for an experienced Waste Services Manager to join their busy team based in Leicester. Full details below:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To lead the council’s waste management services including the provision of residential (kerbside collection) and commercial collections as well as the councils HWRC provision, and all related waste treatment and ensure that:
- The council has a strategic approach to waste management pursuant with all relevant sector legislation.
- The development of the waste management strategy meets the needs of the city’s residents and are understood and provided for in its waste delivery approach.
- The provision of outsourced waste services including the council’s PFI waste contract is aligned to the Council’s needs and priorities.
Substantial experience acting as a lead technical expert in the field of Waste Management/ UK Legislation which involves interpreting, understanding, and advising on complex technical, legislative, financial/funding, legal, and contractual matters.
