Youth Justice Case Worker 
Twickenham
3 months initially
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 36 hrs/week
  
Our client are seeking a Youth Justice Case Worker to prevent and reduce offending by children and young people.
  • Manage a caseload of young people who have been either referred by the Police or ordered by the court, ensuring that a holistic assessment of need supports a robust intervention
  • Support children, young people and families with a range of needs and risks
  • Support with repairing harm, increasing social capital, education, emotional wellbeing and feeling safe
  • Promoting and maximising the welfare and the safeguarding of young people that have entered criminal youth justice system and increasing awareness and confidence in the youth justice system
  • Undertake assessments, write reports, complete single assessments if the child is deemed to meet threshold for a section 17 assessment
  • Hold both court orders and court of court work, attend Youth court and act as court officer including occasional court
Requirements
  • Educated at level 4 or above professional qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Children and Youth, Social Care, Probation)
  • MUST have YJS caseworker experience
  • Experience of working with children, young people and families with offending behaviour
  • Ability to write clear and concise court reports, bail packages, panel reports
  • Experience and understanding of how Courts work and of relevant Youth Justice legislation, including sentencing and bail/remand
  • Child DBS registered to the update service
