JOB TITLE:  Assistant Residential Workers

LOCATION: Cambridge & Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

PLACEMENT Full time roles 37 hours per week & Part Time roles. Will include some weekend cover (Based on a Rota)

PAY: PAYE From £8.20 per hour & Umbrella From £9.75 per hour

4Recruitment Services are seeking Assistant Residential Workers to provide services to our client who has sites based in Cambridge and Huntingdon.

We require people who are passionate about and committed to working with children and young people with disabilities, challenging behaviour and mental health struggles.

Our client manages residential homes that provide a  home from home setting for children and young people between the ages of 8 to 19 years old, who have learning, physical disabilities, complex health or behavioural needs in a comfortable and safe environment.

As an Assistant Residential Worker, you will help the team provide a safe and caring environment, supporting the children and young adults with household tasks and all aspects of their care.

You will make a difference by:

Helping to create a homely environment which nurtures, supports and develops young people to reach their full potential.

Supporting with medical needs and providing personal care including administering medication, dressing, feeding, bathing and toileting.

Completing care plans and ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.

Providing a safe environment for young people to enjoy time with their friends whilst developing their independence.

Planning and delivering fun activities for our young people to participate in.

Participating in regular team meetings and training to ensure the highest level of care is provided.

Promoting independence and Equality & Diversity throughout the service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, Health and Social Care or willingness to complete qualification.

Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage)

A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people

The ability to work effectively as part of a team

A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week)

A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for record-keeping purposes
