Maintenance Surveyor Required

Reports to: Regional Maintenance Manager/ Regional Surveyor

Monday to Friday, 8am till 5pm

3 months - High likelihood this will be extended if all goes well.

Must be able to pass a DBS

Paying up to £25ph via umbrella.

The role is part of a small team of surveyors who are responsible for the effective provision of a property maintenance service to our Council premises (predominantly non-domestic) and external clients.

Providing expert advice and guidance to our customers in all aspects of reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, planned preventative maintenance, Health and Safety and minor works.

To be responsible for the management of the entire planned preventative service works to ensure compliance in accordance with the appropriate legislation/regulations.

  • To monitor progress and ensure that all works are delivered to the legislative requirements, timescales and to a satisfactory outcome.
  • To respond to emergency / urgent issues as they arise and manage these situations to deliver an excellent service to our customers and ensure a satisfactory outcome.
  • To provide an advisory and project management service, including the preparation of clients briefs and preparation of scope of works.
  • To ensure that where the Property Services Team has Legal and Statutory obligations on compliance for works such as asbestos, water hygiene, fire safety, lifts, electrical inspections, and gas records are maintained up to date for the purposes of audit trails, and to assist with any investigations carried out by the Health and Safety Executive and/or other regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

HND/ HNC in a Building & Engineering Services or equivalent

or the ability to demonstrate through training or extended experience, the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties

Electrical, gas or mechanical bias qualification/qualifications– fault diagnosis, sending out to contracts

Note:

work from home, however, Will have to go to sites. (Back to the office around Sept)

Preferably council experienced 

Non housing stock, schools, offices, libraries.

Microsoft suite, excel and word etc. open housing
