Building surveyor facilities management - Cardiff

Location: Cardiff, CTS Building, CF118BT

Contract:  6-month contract with possibility to extend

Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay: up to 24ph (depending on experience)

Job purpose:

Primary purpose of role: Part of a Building Maintenance team undertaking the planning and management in relation to Council wide buildings and maintenance management – in relation to approximately 400 buildings and excluding domestic property.

Secondary purpose: of the role Working to CDM 2015 requirements, undertake a surveying role in all aspects of building maintenance, including planned preventative maintenance, cyclical maintenance, responsive repairs, and management of external contractors

Budget management – developing specifications, tendering, and managing projects controlling send on building budgets as well as supporting new business and revenue streams through collaborative working.

The primary purpose of the role is to:

  • Undertake the ‘Client’ role in all aspects of building maintenance including planned preventative maintenance, cyclical maintenance, responsive repairs, and management of external contractors.
  • Site managing contractors providing services, including all regulatory and statutory compliance associated with contracting
  • Assisting, supporting, and promoting change within the business planning and service delivery process
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of operational Health and Safety in relation to maintenance of Council buildings, the Corporate and Service Area H&S Policies and compliance with new and existing legislation and requirements
  • Assist with the planning and implementation and monitoring of the Facilities Management sustainability strategy and carbon reduction plan
  • Support work to promote and develop customer services, employee and operational targets that achieve and exceed business objectives
