Salary: £11

Full-Time (37 hours)

Skills and Abilities:

To provide standard administrative tasks and other standard support to a specific departmental area.

Your Main Priorities

To assist the Senior Business Support Officer in providing an efficient business support function within a This role is a support post working within the Business Support Team to provide basic administrative support to both the rest of the Operational Support Unit and the wider Environment and Community Services department.

The post holder will perform transactional processing tasks to support work areas across the department, for example distributing post, ordering stationery, maintaining records, printing, laminating and any other tasks commensurate with the role. They will arrange meetings and work with other colleagues within the team to ensure that tasks get completed to a deadline and customer requests are satisfied. They will have good customer service and communication skills and will raise any issues with senior staff as necessary.

The Business Support Admin Assistant will be expected to communicate within the team to ensure delivery of work to schedule, in consultation with the Business Support Officers and under the direction of the Committee & Business Support Supervisor 

EXPERIENCE:

This role will apply knowledge about administration to deliver work to deadlines.

Typical problems they will be required to solve are:

A request for work is received without adequate guidance. The post holder must refer to established procedures or seek instruction from other members of staff to clarify the way forward.

A phone message is received for another member of staff in the department. The post holder has to find out the details of the member of staff and pass the message on.

Other problems relating to specific work areas in the department may occur from time to time, and the post holder may have to use service-specific knowledge or draw on learnt experiences to solve these
