Combustion Engineer

Job Title: Combustion Engineer
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am till 5pm 

Location: Covering Birmingham

Salary: Up to £40,000

Notes: Must be able to pass a DBS & possess a driver’s license.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Undertake planned maintenance procedures, regular checks and routine inspections on equipment in conjunction with the maintenance team.

Ensure the continuous operation of the installed system.

Undertake repair and minor works associated with the installed services relevant to their job designation.

Assist and enhance service delivery through best practice and the effective use of site systems and equipment.

Carry out personal risk assessments of maintenance and repair activities.

Maintain and review stock levels, spares requirement through audit and timely ordering of parts.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance to site Health & Safety procedures.

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Requirements:

Gas safe qualifications

Experience of mechanical or electrical, plumbing and general handyperson duties

Be confident to work and understand the requirement of working safely within a team environment

Hold a level of certification to enable planned and reactive work to be completed on medium sized gas boilers of circa 320 kw and also work on gas catering equipment

Experience preferably in a similar Facilities Management / Building Services back ground

The post holder will have an obligation to undertake where necessary training to ensure the level of competency is up held

Ability to be an effective Team Player within the team

IT skills relevant to the position as work orders are to be issued using PDA's and or Windows based software
