Job Description

Central Bedfordshire Council – Community Re-Ablement Worker

Location: Priory House, SG17 5TQ

Contract: Initial contract to 31st December 2020

Hours: 37hours a week

Payrate: £10 an Hour

Role Information/Duties:

Our reablement service supports people to return to their homes following a stay in hospital when they might otherwise be unable to.

As a Community Reablement Worker, you will work in partnership with people in their own homes to help them regain their independence in carrying out those essential day to day tasks that they may now struggle with.

Your commitment will help them regain their confidence and independence following a plan tailored to their specific individual needs to help them relearn skills that have been identified as important to their quality of life.

You might be helping them get up in the morning and make their first cup of tea of the day and then later supporting them to regain cooking skills or administering their medication. You’re not doing tasks for them; you’re helping them to do things for themselves once again.

Experience and qualifications are always desirable, but for this role your personal values and attitude are most important. Helping people will come naturally to you and you will find reward in supporting people to regain their independence.

You’ll have great communication skills, be flexible in your approach and be a great companion to those you work with.

A driving licence and access to your own car is essential for the role, and all mileage can be claimed at a great rate per mile

Recruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices. 4Recruitment Services is an equal opportunities employer.
