Contract Management Specialist | Portsmouth

4Recruitment Services are seeking a Contract Management Specialist for Portsmouth.

37 Hours per week

You will assist the senior procurement professional in preparing briefing papers on specific contracts to inform negotiation strategy and planning.  You will be required to be proactive in seeking out relevant information among contract and procurement documents and summarising this for the council's strategic contract management board. You will also provide a range of administrative tasks as appropriate to the operational and strategic requirements of the service.

Key tasks will include:

  • Reading and interpreting complex contract documents.
  • Preparing contract operations manuals.
  • Preparation of a wide range of documents associated with contracts with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Liaising closely with the council's legal services and procurement department regarding contractual matters.
  • Planning and preparation for supplier meetings and negotiations.
  • Providing specialist contract management advice.
  • Preparing reports for senior managers and elected councillors. care policies

 What you will need –

  • Experience of contract management and the practical application of contractual terms
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment with ever changing demands
  • Good understanding / knowledge of contract and procurement law
  • An excellent standard of literacy and attention to detail, with the ability to draft documents and correspondence to a professional standard.
  • Experience of using Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people and organisations
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise a very fast-moving workload
  • Evidence of being able to produce reports to a very high standard
  • Excellent communication skills including dealing with people on a face to face basis as well as over the telephone.
  • Experience of being a good team player able to work with colleagues in a very busy office environment

Salary is £18 to £22 per hour.
