Divisional Director - West Hertfordshire Hospitals

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the division as accountable manager for service and governance
  • Full responsibility for service safety and quality and divisional service and financial performance
  • Sharing and advocating the Trust’s strategic vision and values and engaging all staff within the Division in the Trust’s objectives and ambitions
  • Providing expert clinical leadership to Your Care Your Future implementation
  • Ensuring compliance with Trust’s policies within the division and fully embedding Trust values and behaviours
  • Exerting a strategic influence at the Trust Executive and Divisional Board meetings to shape, drive and support the development of aligned Divisional Plans 
  • Driving quality, innovation, productivity and prevention (QIPP) within the Division; identifying efficiency improvements and ensuring delivery 
  • Effectively managing all budgets directly assigned to the role and to the wider division
  • Taking responsibility for delivering against Divisional governance and risk targets and ensuring that any remedial action plans are implemented. Maintaining lead accountability for risk management
  • Ensuring cross-divisional delivery of the annual departmental team and individual Job Planning process and effective team rostering; ensuring compliance with Trust principles and ensuring clinical capacity meets anticipated service needs without reliance on locums and ad hoc sessions

Basic pay is £79,860 per annum and, subject to satisfactory job planning and review, will rise through annual threshold increases to £107,668 per annum
