4Recruitment Services are seeking to recruit an Enablement Support Worker to provide services to our client  in Lewisham

These posts are required to support the Lewisham Enablement Care team work with patients leaving hospital following a period of ill health or a fall etc. The team provide support with a mixture of care tasks initially leading to working alongside therapists to follow an enablement programme with set goals to achieve within a time limited period. During this period you will be expected to give comprehensive feed back about progress with a view to closing the programme.

All your visits will be within the Lewisham Borough catchment area and ideally you will be a skilled care practitioner with a good knowledge of moving and handling techniques, care tasks and medication administration.

We are especially seeking candidates able to work split shifts at weekends and week evening shifts between 4pm - 9pm.

Ideally you will be a driver with access to a car but not mandatory.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An understanding of the physical, social and emotional needs of adults who have disabilities and / or mental health needs
  • An understanding of policy and practice in relation to enablement, recovery and dignity in care
  • Knowledge of policy and practice in relation to the safeguarding of vulnerable adults
  • To set appropriate goals for individuals (staff and users)
  • To assess an individual’s ability, achievement and progress
  • Experience of  working with vulnerable people to facilitate an improved level of independence
  • Experience of  caring for vulnerable adults in either a paid or voluntary basis
  • Experience of  effectively supervising a group of mobile staff
  • Experience of  caring for vulnerable adults in either a paid or voluntary basis
  • Professional qualification(s) Minimum qualification level NVQ 3 in Social Care & Health
  • Enhanced DBS
