Location: Civic Centre, Enfield, EN1 3XY

Contract: Perm

Hours: Full Time – Monday – Friday

Payrate: 75k-91k

Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, committed and enthusiastic Consultant in Public Health to join our equally dynamic, committed and enthusiastic Local Authority Public Health Team.

You will be passionate about making a difference to resident’s wellbeing, reducing inequality and working with partners within the Local Authority, across our Integrated Care Partnership as well as with residents.

As CPH, you will have lead responsibility for key strategic work areas which will be identified according to your interest as well as service need.

You will also contribute to many of our teams core Public Health functions including COVID management and recovery.

Within the Local Authority we have a strong and stable senior management team and excellent relationships with partners, underpinned by our emerging Integrated Care Partnership.

Key Accountabilities:

Demonstrating expertise across the Faculty of Public Health Competencies (Appendix 1). The postholder will be responsible for:

Provision of highly technical and specialist public health advice to NHS, public health, social care and other service developments;

Oversight and accountability for commissioning (as required).

Embedding a Health in all Policies (HiAP) approach across the Council and partners.

To carry out the assurance duty for the Council of immunisation and screening programmes for people of all ages in Enfield.

To support the DPH in health protection duties including COVID response activities, emergency planning resilience and response to health threats.

Reducing inequalities in outcomes and opportunity for Enfield residents.

Development, implementation and delivery of national, regional and local policies, developing inter-agency and interdisciplinary strategic plans and programmes,

with delegated Board or organisational authority to deliver key public health targets.

Expert public health advice and leadership to support an evidence-based approach to developing affordable, equitable public health, NHS and care services.

Information and intelligence systems to underpin public health action across disciplines and organisations, leading collation and interpretation of relevant data.

Supervision of staff and support for trainees.

Commissioning and or delivery of public health research, and translation of findings into public health practice.

Close working with local commissioners to support integration between NHS and the Council.

Deputising for the Director of Public Health when needed.

Complying with professional registration and appraisal requirements.

Operating within the values of the organisation and professional ethics.

Maintaining effective and responsible public health advocacy.

Carrying out any other duties reasonably requested by management.

Carrying out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures.
