Family Support Worker - Oldham

Are you a passionate, dedicated Family Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Family Support Worker to join a Children with Disabilities Short Breaks team based in Oldham. 

Pay Rates: £13.04 per hour

Duration: 30/01/2023 - 10 months

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:40 - 17:00, 36.66 hrs/week - Office Based

Family Support Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Work directly with children, young people and families, providing practical help, advice and guidance on issues affecting family, relationship and functioning especially in areas relating to child’s additional needs.
  • Assessment visits and direct work with family support tasks at families homes.
  • Contribute to and implement individual plans for children and young people.
  • Assess and review short breaks packages.
  • Offer family interventions for children with disabilities and complex needs.
  • Develop a local knowledge and understanding of resources which are available to meet the needs of the child and family.
  • Ensure files and records are accurately maintained.
  • Provide written and verbal contributions to child protection/Child in Need reviews, Looked After Children (LAC) statutory reviews, multi-agency meetings and to hold Children in Need cases as appropriate.
  • Work with colleagues from all agencies to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Develop trusting working relationships.

Essential Requirements:

  • Driving Licence, Access to a Vehicle, Business Insurance
  • Able to travel to different sites across the Borough
  • Recent experience working with children in need, young people and their families
  • Experience keeping accurate records and writing short reports
  • An understanding of current child care legislation, child protection issues and local/national initiatives
  • Ability to collate, organise and evaluate information as an aid to decision making
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered to the update service
