Hackney – Logistics Officer
Location: Stoke Newington High Street, Hackney, N16 0JS
Contract: Contract to March 2022
Hours: Full Time – Monday – Friday 9-5
Payrate: £13 an hour
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This role is responsible for the day-to-day logistical operations of the Emergency Stores (for PPE and test kits/consumables at Stoke Newington Town Hall.
The Logistics Officer ensures that all orders are processed and dispatched and manages the receipt and storage of stock. The role includes maintenance of the stock management IT system (on Google Sheets).
In the event of surge testing in Hackney, the Logistics Officer will provide stock logistics provision to the operational teams and account for all surge testing consumables (tests and PPE).
The Logistics Officer will be required to make stock deliveries across the borough and maintain stock at remote sites.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The postholder will have responsibility and accountability for the following:
Stock handling and receipt of deliveries; must be fit and able to lift boxes & equipment
Delivery of stock; a full, UK, manual driving licence for category B1 (car / van) is essential
Maintain the stock management system on Google Sheets/Forms and process stock receipts/order.
Ensure that the stores operate seamlessly to receipt, store and dispatch stock and ensure that services have a positive customer experience.
Communicate with order recipients, manage priorities and resolve any daily issues in fulfilment of orders.
Relay information to the Stores Manager around any issues that cannot be resolved.
Highlight potential Health & Safety issues to the Stores Manager
Maintain the stock control and ordering IT system.
Supervise junior staff in all areas of store operations
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
Computer literate. Experience of working with spreadsheets/Google Suite.
Ability to work in a pressurized, changing and challenging environment; excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; able to communicate clearly and fluently.
A presentable, self-starter who enjoys working to tight deadlines with a proactive and flexible approach with the ability to react quickly.
Proven organisational and administrative skills and experience; the ability to work under own initiative and as a team player, to prioritise effectively and to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;exceptional communication skills (both written and oral).
