Housing Advisor - Hammersmith & Fulham 

Are you a passionate, dedicated Housing Advisor looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Housing Advisor to join a team based in Hammersmith & Fulham. You will be required to provide appropriate advice and assistance to all applicants who are homeless or in housing need, and to maximise the resources available to prevent homelessness wherever possible. 

Pay Rates: £23.28 per hour

Duration: 3 months

Hours: 36 hrs/week

Housing Advisor role: Full JD Available

• Act as a first point of contact for residents coming to the council for housing assistance
• Work flexibly to meet the needs of the applicants
• Carry out housing options interviews, affordability assessments, risk assessments and enquiries into applicants circumstances
• Check and verify documents
• Maximising prevention opportunities
• Create and update Personal Housing Plans
• Providing advice and appropriate assistance to enable applicants to remain in existing accommodation to source alternative accommodation
• Recommend placements into temporary accommodation where all prevention opportunities have been exhausted
• Assess applications to join the housing registers
• Work with internal and external partners by making referrals
• Initiate meetings/ case conferences

Essential Requirements:

• Knowledge on Housing Act 1996, part VII and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
• Recent experience in a similar role
• Experience of managing a varied caseload, carrying out regular reviews and making recommendations
• Experience of working within detailed policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Good IT skills
• You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered onto the update service
