HR Business Advisor – Barnsley  

Salary: £18.85 Per Hour

Part Time: 3 Days a week - Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm

Role Purpose:

To work in partnership with both internal and external customers providing advice, guidance and support to enable the effective management of people and resources and improved performance, reflecting good practice and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and terms and conditions of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional advice on the interpretation of all Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment, taking account of statutory requirements and the culture of the organisation.
  • Develop, promote, and advance commercial opportunities to provide an excellent HR advisory service as part of a traded services agreement.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative, integrated, and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Trade Unions and Professional Associations ensuring effective appropriate consultation arrangements.
  • Advise internal and external customers on panel hearings and appeals, helping to manage issues relating to discipline, grievance, performance in employment, managing change, managing attendance, etc.
  • Advise internal and external customers on the process to be followed with Employment Tribunal Claims, including attendance at Hearings when required and in accordance with advice from Legal Services.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of workforce and succession plans, under guidance from the senior HR Business Partner.
  • Utilise a variety of software packages to maintain an accurate record of all casework and data and manage cases within agreed timescales and service level agreements.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and reflect current professional standards, good practice and legislative requirements, taking account of corporate objectives and customer requirements.
  • Develop and deliver briefing and training sessions on a variety of people management topics.
  • Undertake specific project/consultancy work as agreed by senior managers.
  • Research, prepare and deliver reports and briefings suitable for a variety of audiences.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service strategies and plans including suggestions improvements in methods of working to support continuous improvement.
  • Keep abreast of wider service developments as well as maintain up to date knowledge of local and national regulations and legislations which will have implications for service delivery and satisfy customer demands.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as requested by management.
