HR Advisor – Oxfordshire
Location: County Hall County Council Offices, OX1 1ND
Contract: 3–6-month contract with possibility to extend
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay: up to 27ph (depending on experience)
To work with a named Directorate to provide a proactive comprehensive and professional specialist HR support and advisory service to help achieve business objectives.
To utilise coaching and influencing skills to enable and upskill senior stakeholders to create a high performing, capable and motivated workforce by providing professional HR expertise on employee relations, performance management and attendance following legal and best practice standards.
To promote best practice standards of people management and contribute to the continual improvement of professional, expert HR advice, customer service and practice.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- Develop relationships with managers to enable proactive and collaborative resolution and management of a wide range of employee issues such as poor-performance and misconduct informally, effectively, and promptly. Coach and support managers to develop their confidence, knowledge, and skills in dealing with people management and employee relations matters.
- Diagnose, advise, and support parties to resolve workplace disputes and conflict accessing specialist input, such as mediation and other specialists where necessary with the aim of achieving informal resolution wherever possible.
- Advise and support managers to manage formal grievances, and disputes including setting terms of reference, liaising with the aggrieved employee, trade unions and investigating officer.
