Wrexham County Borough Council - Human Resources Service Centre Adviser

Location: The Guildhall, Wrexham, LL11 1AY

Contract: Initial One Month Contract with Extensions

Hours: Full Time: 9:00am-5:00pm (Monday to Friday)

Payrate: £9.94 an Hour

Description:

We are seeking an individual with experience in dealing with HR and payroll data to assist with our system development work.

Duties will include data entry, running standard HR & payroll reports, manipulation and presentation of data and system administration.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of using excel to an advanced level and ideally Zellis /Northgate systems or other integrated HR / Payroll systems’

Description of Principal Duty or Responsibility

To maintain an excellent standard of customer service by providing advice and information at the first point of contact aiming to resolve any matter relating to employee transactional services.

This can include recruitment, pre-employment, contracts/payments, maternity, time off work, flexible working etc.

It also includes signposting to other HR policies, guidance, self-service systems for information on other aspects of HR & OD services e.g. MyView, disciplinary, capability, redeployment, absence management, pay protection, pay policy, travel and subsistence, reward etc.  

To ensure the response to the enquiry is dealt with in a responsive and accurate way and escalating to Senior Adviser/Team Leader in the event of it not being resolved.

To process customer instructions and requests, prioritising these in accordance with deadlines using appropriate standard template letters for employment contracts, payroll instructions and other processes that require transactional support.  

The post holder will carry out an initial assessment of the request and action as appropriate or escalate if it relates to a more complex/non routine enquiry to the Senior Adviser, or the Team Leader or a HR Officer as appropriate.

To ensure all enquiries receive a prompt response and any administration has a timely turnaround and is accurate and consistent.  For all requests, the customer will be kept informed of progress and likely response time if not immediate. 

This also includes those related to school employees under the SLA following receipt of a school instruction/enquiry.

To be responsible for the daily maintenance of the HR/Payroll system records, ensuring consistent and shared systems are fully utilised.  

Ensure that records are created and maintained so that reporting and transactions are accurate (including secure disposal of out of date information).  Systems may include ResourceLink, MyView, DBS online, TMS

To ensure pre-employment checks and on-going safe-recruitment checks are carried out effectively ensuring that accurate records are maintained for wider reporting.  Checks include DBS, EWC and CSSIW registration. 

Monitor and progress chase own cases, raising any areas of concern to the Senior Adviser.  Produce update reports on pre-employment status for teams e.g. DBS status for managers, undertake renewals process for identified schools (including site visit for process)
