Learning & Development Consultant – Newham (Temp Vacancy)

Umbrella Pay Rate: £22.00ph

Full-Time (37 hours)

Job Purpose:

We’re looking for a learning and development professional to work for both the London Boroughs of Newham and Havering. 

It’s an exciting period of change for both boroughs; developing people capabilities is key to the success of this change.  You will report to the L&D Manager and work to shape and implement, both individually and as key contributor, the learning and development provision.  You will design, implement and evaluate a variety of learning solutions across both councils.  

It is a hybrid working style with a requirement to attend either Newham or Havering offices once or twice a week working 36 hours a week.

Some of the projects you will lead and contribute to include:

• Developing people capabilities
• Commissioning and developing a learning management system
• Reciprocal mentoring
• Commissioning external partners to deliver development solutions
• Induction
• Peer-to-peer learning
• Developing and embedding blended learning approaches; including use of digital solutions and learning technology
• Performance management
• Coaching provision
• Embedding a learning culture

We are looking for someone with:

• Learning and development experience and expertise
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence, is highly organised and able to work using initiative
• The ability to work closely alongside and consult with various stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Excellent facilitation skills at various levels of organisation
• Knowledge and experience of developing learning management systems
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Project leadership and management skills
• Excellent relationship skills and desire to work in a highly collaborative team
