Learning Mentor - Youth Justice Service - Stockport 

Are you a passionate, dedicated Learning Mentor looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Learning Mentor to join their team based in Stockport. The post of Youth Justice Service Learning Mentor will focus on the learning, training and employment needs of young people who are 16+ and known to the Youth Justice Service in Stockport.

Pay Rates: £18.25 per hour

Duration: 13/03/2023 - 6 months

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hrs/week - Hybrid 

Learning Mentor role: Full JD Available

  • Make or contribute to assessments to assist in identifying young peoples’ learning style.
  • Support young people to secure and retain a place in education and employment, and to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Practical support (e.g. accompanying them to appointments) and planning and delivery/ contribution of interventions.
  • Undertake home visits as necessary to work with young people and their parents.
  • Liaise with the custodial establishments and, where appropriate, participate in the young person’s resettlement plan.
  • Offer ongoing voluntary ETE support over an agreed period of time.
  • Work with members of the multi-agency Youth Justice Team and other appropriate agencies to address those welfare issues that impact on their ability to learn.
  • Keep records and progress reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, car business insurance
  • Recent significant experience working with vulnerable Children and Young People with complex needs
  • Experience of developing and delivering a range of interventions
  • Experience of multi-agency and partnership working
  • Experience liaising with educational settings
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child DBS Certificate registered onto the update service
