Umbrella Pay Rate: £23.00ph

Full-Time (37 hours)

Job Purpose:

As a Highway Authority, Leicestershire County Council has statutory responsibility to manage their highway (network) in an effective manner, to control and reduce congestion and provide a high-level of safe and reliable journeys to the road user.

The Network Management Service, within the Council’s Highways & Transport division take an active role in the implementation of the Council’s Local Transport Plan whilst also delivering the statutory responsibility for network management.  

The Network Manager role is to provide an operational and strategic lead to the Network Management service, overseeing the functions and outcomes to ensure the service is being delivered to best effect and the efficient and effective operation of the Service will deliver the Council’s Network Management Duty.

Accountabilities:  

• To ensure that the services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire.
• To maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and colleagues within the team and across the service.
• To ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner as possible
• To deputise for the Team Manager as appropriate
• To support the Council’s Traffic Manager in the operational delivery and strategic planning of an efficient and effective network management service
• To provide input into the Council’s Local Transport Plan and Network Management Strategy and ensure the Service delivers their role within the Council’s network management strategy.
• Provide access to the network for various users;
• Improve and maintain the performance of the network;
• Provide network resiliency throughout the County;
• Ensure safety for those using and working on the network;
• Protect the network assets; and
• Identify and act upon current issues or potential risks to network performance.
