Payroll Specialist – Chichester (Temp Vacancy)

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.00ph

Full-Time (37 hours)

Job Purpose:

You will be a key member of the project team, representing the interests of the payroll service, helping to ensure that the new system is fit for purpose and meets our needs.  You will report to the HR & Payroll Functional Lead and support the Payroll SME to ensure that the new system is configured, tested to standard and supported by appropriate payroll procedures and practices.

You will have up to date knowledge of UK legislation and will be an experienced payroll practitioner with a good understanding of payroll processes, elements and operational payroll activities and be familiar with statutory and occupational absence rules.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to manipulate and analyse complex spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Be able to investigate system anomalies and rectify errors.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Extensive understanding of UK statutory payroll requirements especially around items such as statutory leave, Government pension regulations – e.g., Teachers Pension, LGPS, etc.
