Portsmouth City Council - Service Desk analyst  

Address: Civic Offices, PO1 2AL (office and remote work)

Contract:  initial 4-month contract with possible further extension

Hours: 37Hours

Pay: £16.18per hour (depending on experience)

The primary purpose of the role is to:

Manage a team queue as well as your own call queue using vFire helpdesk software.

• Act as the first point of contact for all queries and issues, primarily via telephone calls but also incidents raised through a self-service portal, email and face to face.

• Troubleshoot a wide variety of problems and then identify and deliver practical solutions.

• Administer parts of the technical environment, including user account administration.

• Install and support a variety of software packages and hardware devices.

• Be required to cross-skill with 2nd line support colleagues.

• Create technical documentation and user guides.

What you need:

1. IT Service Desk Experience

2. Using a Service Desk logging system.

 3. Active Directory / Windows administration.

4. Microsoft Office – intermediate/advanced (M365)

5. Windows 7 and 10

6. Exchange Admin.

7. Mobile Device Management.

8. Supporting users of software applications.
