Programme Support Officer – Wakefield (Temp Vacancy)

Umbrella Pay Rate: £13.00ph

Full-Time (37 hours)

Job Purpose:

  • The post holder will provide high quality support to the Single People Solution Programme and contribute towards its successful delivery.
  • To contribute to the planning, organising and the delivery of a range of HR and Transactional improvement initiatives and change projects.
  • To assist in researching best practice and developing efficient customer focused solutions and digital processes
  • To support communication and engagement campaigns and prepare and collate appropriate documentation and feedback for presentation to Steering Groups.
  • To assist in the development of a continuous improvement culture and help promote the awareness and opportunities that technology can present to deliver process improvements and service transformations for both the organisation and the customer.
  • To work collaboratively across HR and Business and Transactions teams and support the development of specific change initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • To provide support to Programme Team members to and  contribute to the successful delivery of the Single People Solution Change Programme
  • Responsible for organising relevant meetings, minute taking and distribution of meeting minutes
  • To support  the development and management of specific projects within the HR and Business & Transactions Services and work streams within the Single People Solution Programme
  • To assist in the review, development and maintenance of guides, templates, training manuals and system processes which support a proactive and business focused approach
  • To assist in undertaking research and gathering information from various sources and stakeholders with regard to the effectiveness and appropriateness of current employment practices
  • To assist in the design and development of digital  forms, letter templates and processes
  • To arrange and support engagement and communication activities including the development of surveys and the delivery of focus groups.
  • To support and actively work with others to achieve common goals and objectives
  • To contribute to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development 
  • To maintain awareness of best HR practices both within local government and other sectors to ensure that the Council’s business activities and  processes and are reflective of these
  • To ensure that services are delivered in line with relevant legislation, Council objectives and policies, including those relating to Equality & Diversity, Customer Care and Health and Safety.
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade across the HR service.  
  • To support the successful delivery of the Single People Solution programme work streams and activities and other HR business improvement initiatives
  • To contribute to the development of the Councils employment practices and procedures that meet local and national terms and conditions of employment and legislative requirements including key stakeholder consultation
  • To ensure the Council’s practices and procedures comply with relevant employment legislation and aligns with the Council’s plans and priorities
  • Ensure all duties and responsibilities of self and staff are discharged in accordance with the council’s constitution and all policies
