Registered General Nurse- Learning Disability Nurse- Gillingham

Are you a passionate, dedicated nurse looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting RGN’s to work in a nursing home in the Gillingham area.

Pay Rates: £16.51 per hour.

What you will be doing: (Full Job Description available)

  • To discharge their professional and administrative duties in relation to supporting the smooth running of the Home.
    To support the Home Manager in such a way as to enhance the quality of life of the people who live there and to staff the building appropriately at all times.
  • To ensure all medical and nursing needs of the residents are met either by discharging their professional duties as a nurse or seeking appropriate medical support as required to meet the needs of our residents.
  • Ensure all records are kept in accordance with the guidelines set in the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
  • To be aware of the Fundamental Standards that CQC inspect us against.
  • To support the Home Manager in his/her duties in the running of the home, having knowledge of and abiding to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.

Key Tasks:

  • To develop and maintain Care Plans and Risk Assessments that are “Person Centred”. Ensure that these are followed and evaluated at regular intervals.
  • To ensure that all treatments are carried out in accordance with professional medical direction and comply with legislative requirements.
  • To support the induction of new staff members   Home Induction is completed on site so that new staff know the routines of the home and where everything is.
  • To monitor and report back to the Home Manager any care/ancillary staff developmental and training needs identified through observation.
  • To maintain effective communications with service users and their relatives.
  • To liaise with all care professionals as part of an effective multi – disciplinary approach to care
  • To ensure their own competency and training is up to date in order they can assess the competency of others within the home.
  • To ensure that our residents are safe in that the CHC Safeguarding Policy & Procedure is followed at all times.
  • To complete weekly and monthly medication audits and complete the necessary paperwork to accompany these; as required by the Manager. 
  • To carry out supervisions of care staff to enable them to develop and improve in performance; in line with Manager instructions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must hold a current RGN qualification, or Registered Learning Disability Nurse qualification with a current PIN number.
