Residential Support Worker - Harrow

Are you a passionate, dedicated Residential Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Residential Support Worker to join their team based in a Children’s Home in Harrow.

Pay Rates: £21.97 per hour (various depending on shifts) 

Duration: 06/02/2023 - 25/06/2023 (5 months) 

Hours: Rota basis covering early, late and waking night shifts as and when needed to meet service requirements

Residential Support Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Provide a high quality service for children/young people with mild/moderate/severe learning disabilities, including those with physical disabilities, challenging behaviour or autism in order to support their families/carers.
  • Assist with food preparation, food hygiene, budgeting, and nutrition.
  • Support with emotional/personal care and hygiene needs.
  • Ensure children’s individual and generic health and educational needs are supported.
  • Ensure they are worked in accordance with the relevant plans, EHC plans, The Firs care plans or LAC care plans.
  • Plan and participate in care, training, group activities, and development programmes for children/young people.
  • Build strong, trusting, working relationships.
  • Write and keep routine records.
  • Prepare reports and participate in Looked After Children Reviews, Annual Educational Reviews, Short Break Reviews and Case Conferences.
  • Attend meetings where necessary.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care or equivalent
  • Knowledge of childcare law i.e. the Children Act 1989 & 2004, the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015
  • Recent experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities
  • Experience working in a children’s home
  • Ability to respond to evidence that children are at risk of harm and make appropriate decisions
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate registered to the update service
