Revenues Manager– South Cambridgeshire

6 Month Contract, Full Time

£51,037 - £59,388 per annum equivalent

Job Purpose:

  • To provide effective leadership across the various Revenues Teams within a climate of continuous improvement and employee empowerment to ensure optimum performance
  • To translate the Council’s strategic vision into clear, practical objectives for delivery by the Revenues teams, conducting regular performance monitoring, and taking remedial action as and when required
  • To have strategic management responsibility for the Revenues teams, including:-
    • Budget and risk management
    • Direction, guidance, support and mentoring
    • Recruitment and staff retention
    • Provision of staff development opportunities
    • Staff disciplinary procedures as and when necessary
  • To develop and implement annual service plans, in conjunction with the Benefits & Contact Centre Manager, to continually improve the quality of the services
  • To be a pro-active member of the Corporate Executive Management Team, considering and providing input to subjects such as performance and risk at a corporate level.

Essential Experience:

  • Must have experience of using Civica
  • We would expect the candidate to understand the completion of the NNDR1 and NNDR 3 business rates government returns, various council tax related government returns. Have a thorough knowledge of how Business Rates and Council Tax work and calculation of collection rate information and an understanding of the Collection Fund.
