Safety Worker - Tower Hamlets (East London)

£20.54ph – 17.7Hours a week

Positive Change Service – the domestic abuse intervention service for LBTH children’s social care – is seeking a half-time, female, Sylheti speaking women and children’s safety worker.

Job Summary:

To deliver high quality domestic violence and abuse (DVA) intervention to perpetrators and/or victims and children in both Sylheti Bengali and English. These interventions form part of two functional teams (perpetrator facing and victim facing) that deliver a co-ordinated DVA service that provides group, couples and individual work to perpetrators, victim/survivors and their children.

Role Requirements:

To deliver high quality domestic violence and abuse (DVA) intervention to perpetrators and/or victim/survivors children in both Sylheti Bengali and English.

Conducting suitability and risk assessments of potential PCS clients

Contributing as an active member to a positive team culture to achieve the service objectives working within The REPAIR Approach to DVA

Being a positive role model for children and families and build partnerships with others to work collaboratively, to hold perpetrators of DVA to account and to support victim/survivors and children

To contribute to safety planning discussions with social workers in Children’s Social Care.

To share information (in some instances with client consent) regarding client attendance and engagement on groups.

Actively contribute to the council’s priorities and outcomes in a way that promotes a ‘one organisation’ approach.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and communities to ensure the council and the directorate strategic priorities are effectively implemented.

Support organisational change and learning, following and implementing appropriate systems of self-development, communication and engagement, quality measures, monitoring and review in delivering the functions of the role.

To deliver Tower Hamlets Response to Emotional and Physical Abuse in Relationships (REPAIR) Approach through domestic violence perpetrator Interventions for LBTH in both Sylheti Bengali and/or English

To ensure requests for information are dealt with in a timely manner.
