Senior Transport Planner– Three Rivers District
Contract, Full Time
£19.85 PH
Job Purpose:
- Lead on the implementation of highways and transportation projects, regeneration and sustainable environmental schemes. Responsibility to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on programme.
- Advise the Council on the environmental aspects of strategic transport proposals and other transportation studies, including air traffic corridors.
- Participate in joint integrated transport initiatives with neighbouring Councils and through the Hertfordshire Climate Change and Sustainability Partnership including the Local Transport Plan and the development of innovative and sustainable public transport systems.
- Represent and act in the Council’s interests in strategic transportation issues. Monitor, consult internal stakeholders and respond in good time to strategic consultation documents as necessary.
- To lead, or assist, in the provision of sustainable transport projects which will support the Council’s climate change agenda and facilitate a reduction in traffic congestion whilst supporting the Hertfordshire Local Transport Plan objective
- Provide complex technical and professional advice, guidance and solutions to customers, colleagues and external agencies to meet service delivery requirements.
- Lead on public and internal consultations for any transport, parking or traffic-related matters.
- Responsible for relevant transport, parking and sustainable travel budgets (including retail parades/highways enhancements) and monitoring and recording all financial transactions undertaken in connection with the service delivery.
- To provide factual based reports for presentation and consideration by relevant bodies and Committees and to attend where necessary Committee and represent the Council at external meetings as required.
