Service Controller – Barnsley

Salary: £ 12.88 Per Hour

Full Time (37 hours per week)

Role Purpose:

Our client is looking for a Service Controller to work within their planning team at Construction Services, candidates will need excellent communication skills & must be able to multi-task & work in a fast-paced environment!

They will be able to demonstrate a positive, flexible attitude to team working and have experience of working within a customer focussed service along with knowledge of the local area

Ideally candidates need experience of working in a Repairs Service planning environment and demonstrate experience in the use of computerised scheduling software, including knowledge of Works Management systems and software applications including Microsoft office however this is not essential as training will be provided - SAP / Dynamic scheduling experience desirable

Responsibilities:

  • To electronically schedule, allocate & dispatch work to all operatives & liaise with operational managers & individual or groups of operatives to reschedule work in an efficient manner
  • To contribute to the development & implementation of new & innovative ways of working in all aspects of Construction Services with the objective of increasing effectiveness, efficiency & eliminating waste
  • To contribute to Construction Services achieving Best Value, including fundamental best value reviews & performance plans
  • To liaise with System & Development Officer/ Technical Support Officer on technical/training issues in respect of mobile working technology
  • To assist in the delivery of the Berneslai Homes Delivery Plan, the Housing Revenue Account Business Plan & the Berneslai Homes Stock Maintenance Performance Management Plan
  • To receive calls & enquiries directly from customers & partners; analyse information and liaise with other staff members to resolve complaints & enquiries & to assist in responding to board and council member enquiries regarding works carried out by the service
  • To assist in the implementation of a comprehensive communication system throughout Construction Services To assist in the administration of the computerised Vehicle Tracking System
  • To assist in reviews of protocols & production of management information relating to work scheduling and associated activities
