Solihull – Planning Officer

Location: Manor Square, Solihull, West Midlands, B91 3QB

Contract: Initial contract till 30^th August 2022

Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday

Payrate: £12 an Hour.

Description:

To deal with a range of planning applications. 

The complexity of the applications with be determined by the qualifications and experience of the post holder. 

The salary payable will be determined accordingly.

Main Duties

To lead on individual development proposals from pre-application stage, through assessing & reporting upon the application and beyond to implementation.

Negotiation with applicants and dealing with interested parties.

Preparing written evidence in planning appeals.

Dealing with associated correspondence and general enquiries from the public.

Implementing, (including initiating enforcement action where necessary) appropriate codes & other instruments to ensure appropriate standards of development management are achieved.

Any other duties appropriate to the salary grade of the post.

ADDITIONAL PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To lead on a range of more complex individual development proposals from pre-application stage, through assessing & reporting upon the application and beyond to implementation. 

This will include developing medium term strategies to ensure that projects are appropriately assessed & stakeholders involved at all stages.

Advising and instructing support staff in the discharge of their functions.

Working on special projects from time to time.

Any other duties appropriate to the salary grade of the post.
