Street Lighting Engineer

To maintain, renew and install Street Lighting installations, Traffic Signs, Traffic Signals and all associated electrical work in a safe, efficient and economic manner employing such skills and knowledge as may be required with due regard to current legislation.

Job Title: Street Lighting Operative / Electrician

Rate: £17Ph via umbrella.

Location: Leicester City

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am till 5pm  

Start Date: Jan 2022

End Date: 31^st March 2022 (Could extend if all goes well)

Duties may include but are not limited to:]

-       Test street lighting, traffic signs and building installations to diagnose faults.

-       Undertake and supervise maintenance to enable Leicestershire Highways to meet its contractual obligations to retain 99.5% of apparatus operational.

-       Test, observe and recognise electrical or structural defects with apparatus or electrical distribution systems and report orally and/or in writing on impending failure.

-       To undertake and supervise electrical works to lighting and sign installations at ground or high level to fulfil the requirements of individual contracts.

-       Electrical installation work in buildings such as depots, civic amenity sites, hospitals, schools and other Council properties other than Street Lighting, to IEE Regulations.

-       Erection and removal of signs and lighting columns as required.

-       Service, adjust and repair electrical installations or components using the necessary equipment and tools in a proper and safe manner.

Requirements:

- Must be fully qualified electrically

- Must be able to pass a DBS

- Must posses a drivers license.
