Technical Assistant Logistics – Huddersfield (Temp Vacancy)

Umbrella Rate: £12.64ph

Full-Time (37 hours)

Job Purpose:

As a proactive Technical Officer you holder will support the Team Leader and/or Assistant Team Leader and deliver the operational duties of their service/business area. The post holder will work with colleagues across the organisation in line with KNH’s core behaviours and values and contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s purpose, vision and objectives.

A key component of the role will be to directly contribute to delivering high performance and continuous improvement within the service/business area in line with KNH’s Service Plans, Medium Term Financial Plan, the joint Delivery Plan and Kirklees Council’s key objectives to deliver a customer focused service. The Technical Assistant will work with colleagues across the organisation and with partners to ensure positive outcomes for the business and for KNH customers.

The post holder will provide a first class customer service to colleagues within the Council and external customers of Kirklees Council, handling enquires over the telephone or email, giving information and resolving queries. They will also provide an internal materials-management service to Team Leaders and operatives to ensure requests for materials are ordered and dispatched to them in a timely manner.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide internal materials-management support to KNH’s operations including a specialist service to the KNH Gas teams
  • Effective stock management is maintained and orders placed and processed using KNH’s ordering system
  • Using effective keyboard and IT skills; access a variety of IT systems to retrieve, edit and input information.
  • Answer incoming calls in a professional effective and efficient manner aiming to fully resolve specific and general enquiries relating to a number of service areas.
  • Make outbound calls to resolve outstanding issues and contact customers and members of the workforce for a variety of reasons including arranging and rearranging visits to properties.
  • Work collaboratively with your Team Leader/Assistant Team Leader and other Officers to monitor, analyse and deliver improvements across all relevant performance indicator areas in order to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare professional and clearly written communications to colleagues, partners and customers.
  • Participate in team service reviews and service planning as required and ensure any arising individual actions are implemented.
  • Be a proactive and supportive team player and actively assist others to adapt and cope with change.
  • Contribute when required to the development of policies and processes across the organisation to ensure that high quality consistent services are delivered.
  • Act as an ambassador and a positive role model through the promotion of KNH’s purpose, vision, behaviours, achievements and successes.
