Youth Justice Practitioner - Wakefield

Are you a passionate, dedicated Youth Justice Practitioner looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Youth Justice Practitioner to join a team based in Wakefield.

Pay Rates: £19.91 per hour

Duration: 03/04/2023 - 3 months with possible extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, 37 hrs/week - Office based 

Youth Justice Practitioner role: Full JD Available

  • Office based, and will also involve travel around the district, seeing children and families within their homes and communities
  • Undertake assessment, planning and intervention with children at risk and involved in offending behaviour
  • Support children and their families to navigate the youth justice system and successfully complete their intervention
  • Support children and families to access community services or courts/statutory services
  • Prepare and present a range of reports as required, including Pre-Sentence Reports, to the Court
  • Support children to be happy, healthy, and safe in communities, as set out by Wakefield Children and Young People’s Plan
  • Ensure that relevant information about children and their families is shared appropriately to ensure risk and safeguarding is managed effectively
  • Work in partnership with early intervention and prevention services
  • Use case management systems to ensure accurate and timely recording of all work undertaken
  • Attend meetings and review where needed

Essential Requirements:

  • UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, car business insurance
  • Recognised Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area e.g., youth justice, probation, youth work, social work or teaching
  • Recent extensive experience holding Youth Justice cases
  • An understanding of the risks and vulnerabilities relating to children in the Youth Justice System
  • Familiar with a Youth Justice Case management system and experience using asset plus as an assessment tool
  • Motivated, flexible and committed
  • Enhanced Child DBS Certificate registered to the update service
