Cancer patients are happier with their care than previous years at the borough’s NHS trust, according to a survey.

Of the respondents that took part in the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey 2016, a total of 91per cent said their overall care was good or very good at both Queen’s Hospital, Rom Valley Way, and King George Hospital, in Barley Lane.

This is a jump of 6pc from the 2015 survey that Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) patients took and is above the national average of 89pc.

Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford said: “I’m really pleased with the results of this survey and to see that once again that our patients are happier with the care they are receiving at our hospitals.

Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, so we listen to their feedback which allows us to make the improvements they would like so we can ensure we are providing the best possible quality of care.”
