Job Description

Assistant Waste Supervisor

Working hours 37 per week although some opportunity for more on occasions depending on workload commitments.

Working hours to be agreed on appointment but will include Monday – Sunday with some weekend working – (min one weekend in 3) times flexible but mainly between 8am and 6pm

Have valid driving licence, access to own vehicle and business insurance – mandatory for the job role

Will be field based and cover the entire county – will be able to claim mileage

Physically fit work outdoors in all weathers including some manual handling and operation of machinery - compactors

Supervisory experience for operational staff across multiple sites beneficial

Good understanding of health and safety requirements for similar environments (vehicle people conflict, outdoor manual work)

Good communicator with staff and members of the public

Ability to deal with complaints

Conduct site inspections

Stock take PPE / consumables monitor stock levels across sites and ensure that all necessary stocks in place and ordered

Deliver training to small groups or individuals

Computer literate with Microsoft IT packages

Loading shovel telehandler experience would be advantageous but not mandatory (need to double check on this)

Activities

Work on sites as a recycling or charging operative where required including full shifts and cover

Monitors maintain stock levels and orders where appropriate

Conduct site inspections be point of contact for staff / supervisors / managers to provide support based on service needs.

Provide cover for supervisors on sites during holiday / sickness busy periods to ensure sites remain operational and staff are supported and safe

Site inspections, notifying works requiring,

Liaise with haulage and support colleagues regarding site needs for transport / collections from contractors etc

Provide support to supervisors for maintaining security access for repairs

PPE will be supplied
