Housing Support Worker - Halifax

Are you a passionate, dedicated Housing Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting 3 Housing Support Workers to join a team based in Halifax.

Umbrella Rate: £13.61 per hour 

Duration: 25/03/2024 – 2 months initially

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hrs/week – Hybrid

Housing Support Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Direct work with people/ families who have fled domestic abuse, some who have drug/alcohol/Mental Health needs
  • Support them to maintain their current Temporary Accommodation while supporting them to find more permanent accommodation
  • Assist clients to secure and move into settled accommodation and where necessary ensure that continued support is in place
  • Support them with recovery from DA trauma and their complex needs
  • Supporting them to keep safe through a coordinated approach to Risk Assessing (DRAMM & MARAC and accessing our Partner agencies)
  • Identify the practical and support needs of the households concerned, develop detailed support plans
  • Complete comprehensive risk/safety assessments and plans
  • Assist to apply for benefits, secure health, education and other services and integrate into their local communities
  • Assist clients to obtain appropriate benefit payments, health care and all other services to which they are entitled
  • Make arrangements for children to enter local schools, colleges and nurseries and as a link between parents and the schools
  • Liaise with the Housing Options Team and provide information necessary
  • Attend relevant meetings including MARAC, as well as plan and arrange specific case meetings and reviews e.g. MDT’s (Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings)
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up to date records and to provide statistics and data as required

Essential Requirements

  • UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Experience of working directly with adults and children who have experienced domestic abuse
  • Experience of housing support work
  • Knowledge of managing and assessing risk
  • Ability to influence and motivate others to change behaviour
  • Ability of lone working
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
