Outreach Family Support Worker - Liverpool

Are you a passionate, dedicated Family Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting an Outreach Family Support Worker to join an Early Help team based in Liverpool.

Umbrella Rate: £18.40 per hour

Duration: 12/11/2023 – 3 months initially

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm, 35 hrs/week

Outreach Family Support Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Provide outreach and home based Early Help Support to vulnerable children and young people who are identified as being at risk of family breakdown, struggling with emotional and behavioural difficulties, experiencing neglect, domestic abuse, parental mental health and/or substance/alcohol misuse issues, in order to prevent the need for statutory services and to ensure families access Universal services
  • Manage a caseload of 10 complex LON3 families per post
  • Develop strong, trusting working relationships
  • Assess risk and needs through Early Help assessments and create support plan with the family using a strength based approach to achieve positive change
  • Review plans at the required timescales
  • Work with the families to reduce challenging behaviour
  • Promote the safeguarding of children and young people
  • Support parents in developing practical parenting strategies which enhance positive parent/carer-child relations. This can include facilitated meetings between family members
  • Support the delivery of supervised contact to cases that are open to Early Help
  • Keep effective records on the electronic systems, which includes the recording of plans, assessments, chronologies and associated general notes
  • Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary

Essential Requirements

  • UK Driving licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance 
  • Recent extensive experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families
  • Experience in Early Help Assessments and support plans
  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
