We are looking for an outstanding person to provide vacancy cover to provide strategic leadership across the Wakefield Children's Safeguarding Partnership, to enable the Council to continue to improve outcomes for children and families and strengthen its partnership approach to safeguarding children and families.

We are looking for the suitable candidate to start within the next two weeks

As Team Manager you will provide strategic and operational management to a multi-disciplinary team to enable Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) to fulfil the requirements set out in the governments Working Together to Safeguard Children strategy.

You will lead or support all areas of WSCP activity, including: - Managing the work of the Business Team - Processing of Serious Case reviews - Coordinating WSCP forums and chairing multi agency meetings in relation to operational safeguarding issues - Providing advice and guidance on all safeguarding matters.

You will need to have a detailed knowledge and understanding in the field of safeguarding children and child protection, together with extensive experience of managing the risk of harm to individuals and the wider community within a safeguarding and public protection context. You will also need to have experience in managing practitioners involved in safeguarding, who work with vulnerable young people and effectively manage the additional demands this puts on them.

The Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership Manager will lead a team with an overarching responsibility to improve outcomes for children and their families and to strengthen the partnership approach to safeguarding children and families.

The rate of pay for the successful candidate is negotiable depending on skills and experience
