Digital Project Manager - Barnsley

Location: Westgate Plaza One 1 Westgate, Western Street S70 2DR

Contract: 6-month contract with possible further extension

Hours: 37 hours per week – remote working but face to face meetings where required

Pay Rate:  £20.67

The primary purpose of the role is to:

To effectively manage digital projects, involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs, acquiring, and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. Adopting and adapting project management methodologies based on the context of the project and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Leads the definition, documentation, and successful completion of complex digital based projects (significant business, political, or high-profile impact and high-risk dependencies). Including adopting and adapting project management methods and tools, selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches.
  • Ensuring that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained.
  • Monitoring and controlling resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines). Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the project.
  • Creates the business readiness plan, taking into consideration IT deployment, data migration, capability deployment (training and engagement activities) and any business activities required to integrate new digital processes or jobs into the "business as usual" environment.
