The role will supportthe boroughs commitment to youth safety through engagement with local communities and young people to enhance understanding and prevent serious group offending and serious youth violence. 

Pay Rates: £16.82 - £22.26

Responsibilities of a Gangs Case Worker: (Full Job Description Available)

• The role will involve engaging and supporting young people (10-24) at risk of becoming involved in or being victims of serious youth violence, gang activity, or offending.
• The postholder will either have basic experience in substance misuse and/or training or willingness to undertake training.
• The role will involve managing initiatives and events to build relationships with community, including local businesses and raise the profile of the work undertaken by IGT and the wider partnership.
• The post holder will also work with a variety of stakeholders to build community relations and provide information and advice to professionals and key stakeholders about the resources and services available to young people and young adults in The Borough in relation to youth violence, gang disruption and prevention and associated issues such as substance misuse, mental health and contextual safeguarding risks.

 Essential Requirements:

• Relevant Experience to the Role.
• Experience of working with young people who display challenging, risky or offending behaviours.
• To have a clear understanding of the Criminal Justice System as it relates to young people.
• Right to Live and Work in the UK.
• Current DBS on the Update Service.
